From 25 July to 20 September 2025, Palermo transforms into the epicentre of international classical music with the 15th edition of the Palermo Classica Festival, established as one of the most important events on the global calendar. Each year, the festival attracts renowned performers, conductors, and soloists, offering a programme that combines the richness of the great classical repertoire with innovative works and contemporary premieres.
Over its 15 editions, the festival has featured top-tier artists. Among the most memorable moments are concerts conducted by Gustavo Dudamel and Zubin Mehta, masterful performances by Anne-Sophie Mutter and Lang Lang, and appearances by prestigious orchestras such as the Berlin Philharmonic, the London Symphony Orchestra, and the New York Philharmonic. “Performing in Palermo was a unique experience, where history and music come together in perfect harmony,” commented Anne-Sophie Mutter during her participation in the 2018 edition.
The festival has witnessed world premieres by contemporary composers, historic interpretations of Beethoven and Mahler symphonies, and cycles dedicated to the great Italian masters. Iconic venues such as the Complesso Monumentale dello Steri and the Orto Botanico are transformed each year into unique spaces where music and architecture merge, offering unforgettable experiences for audiences and critics alike.
The festival’s cultural and educational impact is equally significant. Through workshops, masterclasses, and training programmes, young musicians and students have had the opportunity to learn from some of the world’s most acclaimed performers. This commitment to education has fostered the development of local and international talent and has introduced new audiences to classical music, extending the festival’s reach far beyond Palermo.
Under the artistic direction of Maestro Roberto Beltrán-Zavala, the festival maintains a flawless balance between tradition and innovation. Each edition reflects a standard of excellence that has established the Palermo Classica Festival as an international benchmark, renowned for its artistic quality and its ability to transform every concert into a memorable event.
