The relationship between the AKOM Ensemble (one of Holland’s premiere modern music ensembles) and Maestro Beltran Zavala has been a lucky one. Five years of astonishing success, superb music making, over fifty world premieres and an ever growing audience. Today Ensemble and Conductor have agreed to commit to two more years together.
Shostakovich +, re:orchestra’s debut album on BIS records remains in the spotlight, two years after its release. Roberto Beltrán-Zavala has been appointed Chief Conductor of the Guanajuato Symphony Orchestra (OSUG) in Mexico, one of the finest and most relevant orchestral ensembles in Latin America. Maestro Beltrán-Zavala will lead the orchestra in seven programs between August and December 2015 and some sixteen programs in 2016. Local press referred to him as “a musician with great artistic vision” (El correo de Guanajuato) and praised his debut concert as “superb and breath-taking” (Periódico AM).
